DESCRIPTION:The Town of Middlebury\, in partnership with the Middlebury Skatepark Project\, is excited to announce the official launch of the design phase for its new concrete skatepark. This significant milestone will begin with a crucial public input meeting on Tuesday\, August 6th\, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Middlebury Town Offices. This meeting is an opportunity to learn more about the project and share ideas through group discussions and interactive design exercises. \nThe town has engaged New Line Skateparks\, a leading skatepark design firm\, to lead the process\, ensuring a state-of-the-art and inclusive space for all wheeled sports enthusiasts. \nThe meeting will be hosted by Chris Long from Newline Skateparks\, a skatepark designer with a background in civil engineering and nine years of experience working on skatepark projects across the country. \nCommunity input is paramount to the success of this project. The Town of Middlebury is committed to creating a skatepark that reflects the diverse interests and skill levels of its users\, from beginners to advanced riders. Attendees will have the chance to share their ideas\, ask questions\, and contribute to shaping a facility that truly meets the needs and aspirations of Middlebury’s wheeled sports community. For those unable to attend\, an online survey will be available for two weeks following the event. This feedback is an important part of the concept design phase and will help guide the design directions developed by the skatepark design team.

We still have hats and stickers available to purchase too. \nThank you once again to the amazing folks at Notte / Two Brothers Tavern for offering their space and donating 25% of the night’s sales to the Middlebury Skatepark Project!! No reservations so tables will be first come\, first served; but we’re maximizing tables for dining this year. We will have local women skaters hosting and helping newcomers learn how to pump on the ramp. \nHere is the overall schedule of the day — keep in mind it’s an early release day for Middlebury schools! \nAfter School Special \n1:00-2:00 After School Mini Meetup\, hosted by local women skaters. We will have our skateboards and pads for anyone who wants to try skating for the first time! BYO Helmet (we have a few to loan out but your own well-fitted helmet is best). \n3:00-4:30 First Skate Dreams screening at the Marquis Theater – $15 at the door \n“Shinner\, Dinner and Movie!”  \n4:00-5:30 Join us for a skate sesh at the Middlebury Mini\, hosted by local women skaters. Adult beginners welcome! We’ll bring some loaner boards and pads\, bring your own helmet if you want to try it out. \n6:00-7:00 Head over to the Marquis Cafe for dinner before the film. Date night! \n7:00-8:30 Second Skate Dreams screening at the Marquis Theater- $15 at the door
