Middlebury Mini Ramp update — and Grand Opening scheduled for August 6!

July 20, 2023 Events, Project updates

Following a pretty weather-event-ful last couple of weeks, we can finally say: The Middlebury Mini is finished and ready to ride/skate! We are incredibly proud of this project and we may be biased but we think it is REALLY fun to skate. Come check it out for yourself ~ and tag us in your clips and photos on Instagram. Thank you so much to all our partners and volunteers for your contributions and efforts to make the Middlebury Mini a reality!

  • Middlebury Department of Public Works – donated labor and materials for site prep
  • rk Miles – donated building materials
  • Nop’s Metalworks – welded and donated the coping
  • Silver Maple Construction – donated labor, materials, expertise and lots and lots of time and planning effort!
  • Joshua Buck – Donated his backyard mini ramp to the Middlebury Skatepark Project, which was repaired and expanded on to create the Middlebury Mini
  • Vermont Community Foundation – Awarded the Middlebury Skatepark Project a $5,000 Spark Connection Community grant for the mini ramp project
  • The Teen Center – Our fiscal sponsor for the Spark Grant, and cheerleader!
  • Addison Central School District – Gave permission for the construction of the Mini at Recreation Park
  • All of the volunteers who helped throughout the process, especially our crew that built the decks and installed Skatelite on our very HOT build day on July 8th! Special thanks to Rob Wheland, Donovan McLendon, Jhimmy Sabilion, Todd Quackenbush and Oliver Berlic for working all day in the heat.

Join us on August 6th from 2-4pm for a Middlebury Mini grand opening celebration! More details to come, but put it on your calendars and cross fingers for dry weather.
