Before the concrete, there is… the dirt!

We’re pleased to announce the skatepark has made a big stride forward this Fall, with the award of a contract for a geotechnical engineering report for the future skatepark site. What’s a geotechnical report, you might ask? It’s an investigation of everything under the surface of the ground — soil conditions, geology, drainage — which will impact the design of the skatepark. Skatepark design and construction companies need this information before they can design a park. So although it may not be as exciting as thinking about bowls, rails, stairs and hips, it’s an important step towards making the skatepark a reality. So, CHEERS to dirt!
